Things I found whilst wandering…

September 7, 2012

Hey… look over there… its a Links post, the last refuge of the lazy blogger who would rather be playing Guild Wars 2.

DR. Christine Carter at Raising Happiness penned a timely missive aimed at ending the chaos inherent in getting youngsters off to school in the morning.

The good news is that our mornings aren’t simply catastrophes that happen to us; instead, our morning happiness is actually within our power to control, and finding that morning bliss is all about HABIT. Once a routine is established in our brains, it takes very little effort for us, or our kids, to enact that routine.

I also highly recommend the Happiness Matters Podcast that she co-hosts with  Rona Renner RN. It’s a bite sized (only 10-15 minutes) snack of awesome parenting advice.

Lenore Skenazy has opened up new digs for the Free Range Kids blog.  It’s snazzier with more bells and whistles and reminds me that I might want to clean this place up a little… there are dust bunnies that are big enough to ride the Beast around here.

Googling yourself can be narcissistic, but you should do it every once in awhile to see what pops up.  Much to my surprise, Raising Hellions is not it’s own top hit! That honor belongs to these folks, Raising Hell, and here, a Dark Angel Fan Fiction website.  I just think that’s cool. Carry on fellow geeks!

And finally, if you have kids addicted to Youtube the way mine are, there are worse places you can point them to than The Kid Should See This.

In their own words…

There’s just so much science, nature, music, art, technology, storytelling and assorted good stuff out there that my kids (and maybe your kids) haven’t seen. It’s most likely not stuff that was made for them…

But we don’t underestimate kids around here.

I could literally waste hours on end there. And not feel a bit of it was wasted.  Here’ a sample.

Have a nice Friday, I have monsters to blow up so seeya later.
